The Cargo Security Alliance provides a wide range of devices and technologies to secure cargo across a wide spectrum of applications, customer requirements and transportation modes that can be customized with unique colors, company logos and messaging, numbered and barcoded to establish and maintain a secure Chain of Custody.
CSA offers 2 types of patented, high security Navalock steel locking bars to secure swing door trailers and sea containers, the MKIIB-L and MKIIIA. These bars secure the keeper rods on both doors, preventing removal of the handle hub to surreptitiously gain access to the contents. By sealing doors with locking bars after a tamper-evident seal is applied, truckers, railroads and freight forwarders can reaffirm the integrity of the doors after initial packing and sealing has been completed by the shipper. Locking bars are either designed for one-time use, requiring them to be cut off with appropriate tools and disposed of, or equipped with re-usable, keyed cylinder locks. Optionally, a numbered steel cable seal is applied to uniquely identify each load or use to establish and prove chain of custody.
The best way to secure your vehicles and the cargo in them is to keep them from being taken or tampered with in the first place. CSA offers a variety of truck, trailer and dolly locks designed to protect your valuable transportation assets when they are unattended and most vulnerable. The TS-4A truck and TS-3A trailer locks provide the highest possible level of security by disabling the air brakes. Permanently installed on a vehicle, they are easily applied in seconds by simply taking out the key, locking down the brakes and rendering them immovable. Alternatively, removeable glad hand locks can be applied to trailers; king pin and landing gear locks provide an added layer of security for parked trailers. Dolly locks prevent unauthorized movement.

The Pallet Protection Bag Kit provides a Topp Clip, Topp Seal and Topp label along with a 48 x 40 x 84 inch high, clear 6 mil pallet bag, neatly folded in a small box. The kit contains all that is needed to secure and identify the pallet as unopened during transit, not including the generic 1/2 inch nylon bands, purchased separately. The Pallet Bag can be applied to any pallet configuration, and can also be heat shrunk to snug it down on any cargo. This device is ideal for air pallets where the cargo is visible, but not removable. The bag prevents surreptitious opening by easily visually showing the breach; aside from the single seal on top of the bag, other tape is needed besides the one seal on top of the bag. The bags prevents water and scuff damage, and also provides a far better and more secure wrap than conventional stretch film.
The use of this protocol is less expensive than stretch wrapping as it eliminates wrapping machines, man power, machine maintenance, and repositioning of packed pallets; it also provides a consistent, repeatable size and visual appearance of the cargo configuration, and the items within.
Bolt seals can come in two distinct forms, one flexible and the second rigid. Flex seals such as the B-11 are far safer to remove as they are taken off by a cable cutter, not a bolt cutter. The clipped portion of the flexible seal - which is often left on the ground - will not flatten tires; laser-engraved, easy-to-read numbers makes it ideal for applications that use conventional bolt seals. The B-03 tandem steel bolt seal comes as a matched, engraved set of barrel and shaft, both laser-engraved with a sequential number; they can also be bar coded and custom marked, if desired.

Tamper Indicative, self-voiding adhesive seals provide a visual deterrent for entry into trucks, air cargo containers, aircraft, doors, cartons and a myriad of other applications. These seals reveal a message when attempts are made to remove them to gain access to the enclosure. Seals can be made with or without residue, and can be numbered, bar coded or die cut in any shape necessary to accomplish the task. The TSA requires tamper evident technology to be used as a containment method for cargo containers and other enclosures, together with some non-tamper evident labels to identify cargo that has been screened.

The patented Sentinel Seal is both security lock and uniquely numbered seal in one device. The Sentinel is easily affixed to roll up or swing doors, cages, ULD’s and any enclosure that requires seal integrity. It replaces conventional numbered cable, plastic or bolt seals and electronic security locks, providing substantial savings over time. It is waterproof and rugged, designed to work outside in all weather condi tions.
A random, time-stamped number is generated each time the device is opened or closed to establish and prove chain of custody; all information on date, time and number are retained in the mechanism and can be down loaded by cell phone or PDA. The word “opened” appears in the screen before a new random seal number is generated upon closure. The electronic components cannot be manipulated by a magnet attack, and will alert the owner of such an attack by showing the word “alert” if any attempts are made to manipulate the device electronically.
Sentinel Seal acts as a barrier device when the lockable design option is chosen. A 3/16th inch thick steel cable effectively secures roll up door hooks and hasps, or the keeper rods on swing door trailers and trucks. Opening releases the standard 20-inch wire cable; optionally, cables can be made in any desired length.
Each time the device is opened, a new digital number is reflected in the durable, thick plastic window. The back-lit, five (5) digit number is easily read with each actuation. The protocol needed to use this mechanism is merely annotating the last number generated on a manifest or document for verification at the next checkpoint. Sentinel Seal meets all TSA requirements for Chain of Custody sealing. By examining the random number, surreptitious entry within the normal chain of custody can easily be detected.

Cable seals are typically used to secure trailers, tankers, rail cars and containers; they provide robust security for unattended cargo, and can establish and maintain chain of custody with serialzed numbering schemes. Our cable seals come in two main forms, fixed length and pull-tight. Cable seals can be made with any thickness of cable from 1/32" up to 1/4 inch, and in any desired length. The pull-tight seals allow users to snuggly fit the seal into a hasp, then tighten securely by pulling on the free end. Fixed length seals are made specifically for repeatable, known-length applications; they lock exactly at the same place every time. Both fixed length and pull-tight seals have laser engraved numbers and can also be bar coded and customized with logos and unique images.

SECURE TRAC AND SECURE PERF are self-wound, tamper evident, self-voiding tapes which comply with TSA security tape carton sealing guidelines. These can be customized by user, company, gateway, Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF) or with any graphical labeling protocol required. Tape is printed and numbered every 9 inches so that no two pieces are the same. SECURE TRAC is a continuous roll of Tamper Evident Tape (TET); SECURE PERF is also continuous, but perforated for easy separation by cutting every 9 inches. Both tapes are made of solvent-based acrylic adhesives, and both will seal most any carton or enclosure. Both SECURE TRAC and SECURE PERF leave a residue behind when peeled; they cannot be cut and resealed due to the unique silicone release agent on the face of the tape. SECURE PERF is available in rolls 2" x 180’ and SECURE TRAC is available in 2" and 3" x 250’. Minimum orders apply to custom graphics orders.
