The MKIIB-L is a dual purpose product, a lock and a seal. The key operated device provides the locking feature through the 14.5 mm (9/16") round hole and the extra 12 mm (1/2") aperture at the tip of the locking bar permits to fit a customs accepted seal such as the C-01 Cable Seal, which turns the MKIIB-L into a seal.

The locking bar is made of hardened rolled steel with a breaking load of 5 tons.  It is designed for weather resistance and to stand up to the rigors of all forms of transportation. It is both strong and simple to use and to inspect. It is not possible to cut the steel construction with any bolt cutter or to remove it with a sledgehammer and chisel, which are the common tools of the cargo thief.
